A politically charged music video capturing contemporary realities in India

Music Video

The Brief
Create a film that confronted the disconnect between political narratives and lived reality.
The intention wasn't to explain or persuade, but to observe, provoke and force attention toward the conditions we often learn to ignore.
The Approach
The film embraced guerrilla filmmaking and real locations to capture the unpredictability, tension and contradictions of everyday life in Mumbai.
Rather than constructing moments, the camera entered spaces as they existed — allowing the city and its people to become part of the narrative.

The Device
A recurring Picture-in-Picture visual language was used as a window into the realities unfolding around us.
The secondary frame interrupted the primary narrative, forcing viewers to confront the world beyond the performance and drawing attention to the disconnect between what we choose to see and what we choose to ignore.

The Outcome
The result was a film that documented fragments of contemporary urban reality while asking viewers to engage more critically with the systems and conditions surrounding them.

The Visual Language
The monochromatic palette reinforced the moral ambiguity at the centre of the film — a space where right and wrong, action and indifference, often exist uncomfortably close together.
The intention was to create discomfort rather than distance.
